Ambient Air Quality Monitoring
Selected procedures for the measurement and sampling of Ambient Air Quality has been accredited by the Department of Standard Malaysia. With latest asset acquisition, we are now capable of running multiple Ambient Air measurements simultaneously, saving clients’ time and money.
The data from result of analysis of samples extracted during the Ambient Air monitoring would complement modelling procedure by environmental consultants for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The most common parameters (but not limited to) for Ambient Air monitoring are:
- Total Suspended Particulate (TSP)
- Particulate Matter 10 (PM10)
- Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5)
- Oxides of Sulphur (SOx)
- Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx)
- Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)
- Carbon Monoxide (CO)
- Ozone (O3)

Importance of Checking the Air We Breathe
Checking the air we breathe is super important to keep us healthy and safe. Air quality monitoring In Malaysia, there are lots of cars, factories, and buildings that can make the air dirty. By keeping an eye on the air quality, we can make sure it’s safe to breathe and protect the environment. When we know what’s in the air, we can find ways to make it cleaner and better for everyone.
Our Air Quality Monitoring Services
We offer special services to check the air quality in different places, like cities, factories, and neighborhoods. We use cool gadgets to measure and check the air for any bad stuff. Our team of experts makes sure the results are accurate and helps people understand how clean or dirty the air is. We also create custom plans to meet specific needs, like following local and international rules. Our goal is to give everyone the information they need to keep the air clean and safe.
The Tools and Methods We Use
We have advanced tools and methods to make sure our air quality checks are accurate. Our stations have high-tech instruments to measure things like dust, smoke, gases, and chemicals in the air. We use both automatic machines and manual methods to collect air samples. Our techniques follow the guidelines set by the Department of Environment Malaysia and other international standards. This way, we ensure our data is accurate and reliable.
Key Pollutants We Monitor
Here are some of the main things we look for in the air:
- Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5): Tiny particles that can get into our lungs and cause health problems.
- Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2): A gas that can make it hard to breathe and can create other harmful gases.
- Sulfur Dioxide (SO2): A gas that can cause breathing problems and make rain acidic.
- Carbon Monoxide (CO): A colorless, odorless gas that can be dangerous if inhaled in large amounts.
- Ozone (O3): A gas that can cause breathing issues.
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): Chemicals that can cause various health problems, including cancer.
Checking these pollutants helps us understand the air quality and find out where the pollution is coming from.
Air Quality Index (AQI)
The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a tool that helps us understand how clean or dirty the air is. It turns complicated air quality data into a simple number and color. The AQI ranges from 0 to 500, with higher numbers meaning worse air quality. It considers the levels of important pollutants like PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2, CO, and O3. The AQI categories range from “Good” (0-50) to “Hazardous” (301-500). This helps people know how safe the air is to breathe and what actions to take to stay healthy.
Monitoring Locations
We check the air quality in many different places all over Malaysia, including cities, factories, and rural areas. This helps us get a complete picture of the air quality in different environments. We choose our monitoring sites based on things like how many people live there, the amount of traffic, and industrial activity. By checking multiple locations, we can find out where the air quality is bad and how it changes over time. This information helps create plans to improve air quality and keep everyone safe.
